Ekonomik Bülten Newspaper September 1987 Yücel Dönmez appears on US television A news program about, Yücel Dönmez’’ art exhibition at the Art Institute Junior Museum has been broadcast on US television. Explaining that he has created his own technique, taking its inspiration from traditional Turkish marbling, Yücel Dönmez was also invited to an art festival organised by IBM, following his exhibition. Given the opportunity to share his art with 5000 more people at yet another festival, Dönmez says, “I keep receiving offers for exhibitions. Several universities have asked me to give seminars on my work. I have already agreed to give three seminars in October. Meanwhile, I have received an offer from New York Metropolitan Museum to undergo some work with them.” On another note, a US national television channel, WGN, has broadcast a news program about Yücel Dönmez and his work. Broadcast twice on two separate days, the program, according to WGN, had an estimated 6 million viewers, and described Yücel Dönmez as a Chicago’’s Very Own artist, and explored the notion of the birth of a new painting technique.
